c’envita a fallo Primo Cittadino

Aggiungi pure inetto e manovrato
che da Sindaco ce diventa Sindacato
pe tutelà l’interessi de li preti
e imporci così assurdi e ciechi veti

poi co’ giri de parole e strani volteggi
le necessità diventeranno li parcheggi
spinto da la moje ‘a Palombelli
che vole i sordi, tanti sordi e solo quelli

A me però me manca ’sto coraggio

From KARAOKE to BLOG

Postato il April 21st, 2008 in Cherry by Luca Mandolesi
According to Tecnocrati, an American blog searching service, the number of blog articles posted in Japanese takes up 37% of all, exceeding English (36%). It is indeed amazing considering the population of Japan is less than 2% of world population, and 60% of all Internet site is written in English. The number of Internet users in Japan is  53million (3rd), following the Unites States with 153 million, and China with 83 million. (746 million in the world) by comScore Media metrix.

What is the cause of this phenomenon? The explanations I could find so far are,

(1)Traditional literature in diary style and "I Novel"

Since the time of Middle Age aristocratic literature, Japan has tradition of diary as literature and a unique style of novel which accounts private life (called "I Novel").

Japanese tend to write blogs as diary, which is not necessarily coherent in theme, not analytical, and write off their own feeling.

Actually, even before the word "blog" or softwares for blogs arrived to Japan, there have been several programs to write diary on the Web.

These show that Japanese have a tradition of writing something like blog.

10 anni

Postato il April 7th, 2008 in Pretzel Power by Jackson

A few comments…

TOKYO, Japan (CNN) — At first glance, the man and woman at the nightclub look like any other couple on a date. He flirts and pours champagne. She looks at him and laughs.

This isn’t a date, though. It’s business.

The woman, a successful executive, has joined a growing number of professional women in Japan in forking out from $1,000 to $50,000 a night for male companionship.

They meet their "hosts" in hundreds of clubs that have sprung up around Tokyo - the industry says only compliments are exchanged. The women pay for a man to lavish them with undivided attention.

"There’s nothing wrong with a woman paying to be entertained by a man," one female client says. "It’s just another step in equality."

Another step in equality? Well, I admit that there are more working women, more stressed by the responsability of the work, as well as annoying bosses. If women are going to those companion service for those reason, then it might demonstrate more equality between men and women. However, we must look closer before jumping to the conclusion, just because of symmetric look of "men searching for beautiful women in exchange for money" and "women searching for good looking men."

As far as I understand, those women who use the service are not only those stressed by regular work. The average age of female customers is lower. Majority of women who frequent "hosts" are "hostesses" who work in the same environment, serving middle aged men.

In addition, the standard price is more expensive for women. A lot of women, who get obsessed with their favorite ‘hosts’, pay more than they can pay that in the end, they end up making money by prostitution. Most of ‘host club’ industry is controlled by Yakuza, or Japanese Gangs, as other night clubs where women serve men.

Why so many YOUNG women are willing to pay HIGHER PRICE to go to night clubs where they are treated like princess? Is it just because they feel equal rights as men to go to such places? Or because they had always desired to do so? Or because they are stressed by work?

Or is it because they are still treated unfairly in their workplace, being put under men, so they would pay to be treated at least better than in their real life?

"I give women things that men normally don’t do, like complimenting their appearance," says one host, 24-year-old Yunosuke, who only goes by his single host name. "I make women happy."

What drives the business boom is an increase in the earning power of Japanese women, according to Air Group, a company that owns a chain of "host" clubs.

The earning of women rised, but that does not mean that they are satisfied with the way they are treated.

Yuko Takeyama, a woman in her early 30s who manages Air Group. "The see this as a way to de-stress."
Women love being treated well without the pressures that come with dating, she says.

Do women feel pressure when they get compliments from men, or to date, if they are really free? The fact that women appreciate ‘bought’ comfort with men more than that for free, shows what is behind this apparent boom.

That is good that women has a way to release their stresses more available than before, indeed. However, it is not natural that they would buy such pricy service instead of going to SPA or massages.
